| Markham Grand Opening Ceremonies - June 12th, 2004|
Opening attended by Mayor Scarpitti, Councilors Jack Heath and George McKelvey, President Dave Harris, Dave Tromphor and Colin Campbell.
Congratulations to all members and friends of MRFC for a great show on Saturday June 12th, 2004 to celebrate the official opening of our new clubhouse.
What a party to crown off the day with most of our teams winning put the icing on the cake. I received nothing but praise about the clubhouse from the local councilor's and visitors. Four years of fund raising and negotiations followed by three years of construction almost entirely by volunteers.
We've done ourselves very proud, keep it up. Thanks to Kim Jorgenson for planning the day and to everyone else who pitched in to make it happen.
Markham RFC would also like to acknowledge the support of:
Gary Crocco - The Olde Markham Coffee Shop on Main St. Markham, Gift Basket and Coffee
Steve Wemyss - Monte Cristo Fine Foods- Appetizers and Cake
Mark Josephs - Kisko Products - "Kisko Kids Korner" , Freezies and visit from the mascot
Mayor, Don Cousens
Deputy Mayor, Frank Scarpitti
Regional Councilor, Jack Heath
Ward 4 Councilor, George McKelvey
These official festivities will celebrate the completion of our clubhouse, and gratefully acknowledge those who contributed financially, donated much needed supplies and materials, and who volunteered their time and skills towards making our dream come true.
