The new Board of Directors of Fletcher’s Fields is very excited about the future for the home of rugby in Ontario.
The new board is now comprised solely of the Presidents/Chairman of the six shareholders, as the shareholders wanted to take a direct role in the future management of their major asset.
The Directors are:
Steve Hall, President of Aurora Barbarians RFC
Pat Hodgins, President of Markham Irish Canadian RC
David Butler, Chairman of Rugby Ontario
Stephen Darley, President of Toronto Nomads RC
Geoff Howes, President of Toronto Saracens RFC
Cathy Caldarola, President of Toronto Scottish RFC
The new board has appointed the following officers:
Chairman – Steve Hall, Aurora Barbarians RFC
Vice-Chairman – David Butler, Rugby Ontario
Secretary – Cathy Caldarola, Toronto Scottish RFC
Treasurer – Damion Ketchum, unaffiliated
Chief Executive Officer – Al Donaldson, unaffiliated
We look forward to building on the decades-long success of Fletcher’s Fields and wish to thank the previous board for their hard work and dedication.
Going forward, we will focus on increasing the utilisation of the fields both for rugby and non-rugby events. Fletcher’s Fields will be an open and inclusive facility where Rugby Canada, Rugby Ontario, the Toronto Rugby Union, and the entire rugby community will be welcome.
We will examine the feasibility of developing a Centre of Excellence and will look to further relationships with all levels of government, as well as the private sector, to that end.
This coming year proves to be exciting, with the much-anticipated return of the Magnificent Sevens tournament, as well as the Canadian Rugby Championships for U20 Women and U19 Men.
We can also look forward to the National Festival for U16/U18 Men and Women as well as Ontario Blues CRC matches.
There are a lot of reasons to be excited about Fletcher’s Fields this year and we want the rugby community in Ontario to be aware of what we have planned.
Yours in rugby,
