Minor Rugby (U6-U10)
Overview
The Markham Irish Minor program, aka “Minis”, is a fun and safe introduction to rugby for young players of all abilities. Teams are divided into three age-based levels, U6, U8 and U10, to ensure appropriate development and a positive experience for every athlete. All teams are co-ed and begin with flag rugby, focusing on movement, teamwork, and physical literacy while having fun on the field. As players grow in confidence, they are gradually introduced to rugby-specific skills and basic game strategy.
Schedule
The minor rugby season runs from May-August with outdoor practices starting as soon as field conditions allow. The exact start date and season details will be shared through team communication channels.
