This season was a year of growth, opportunity, and connection for our Junior Girls program, with our U16 and U18 athletes coming together both on and off the field.

Both age groups partnered with the Caledon Cavaliers, creating opportunities for players from both clubs to compete together and build new connections. For our U16 Girls, that partnership was complemented by training alongside our U18 Girls throughout the season. This gave our younger athletes the chance to learn from and push themselves alongside older players, while helping build a strong pathway toward U18 rugby.

The hard work showed across both age groups. Our U16 Girls finished 3rd in the Central West Regional Division, earning a well-deserved spot after a season of steady development. Our U18 Girls finished 2nd in the Central West Division, putting themselves among the top teams in the region before heading to the Provincial Championships.

At Provincials, the U18 Girls continued to battle and came away with Bronze, adding a provincial medal to an already impressive season.

While the results are certainly worth celebrating, the bigger story is what these athletes built together. Training across age groups, competing alongside players from another club, and learning from one another created new experiences, stronger connections, and a greater sense of what is possible when clubs work together.

For our U16 Girls, the season provided valuable experience and a strong foundation to build on. For our U18 Girls, it was another opportunity to compete at a high level and finish their season on the provincial podium. Together, they represent a Junior Girls program that continues to grow, develop, and create opportunities for the next generation of Markham Irish athletes.

Congratulations to our Junior Girls on an outstanding season, with 3rd in Central West for U16, 2nd in Central West for U18, and Bronze at Provincials! 🥉

The future is bright, and we're excited to see what these girls build next.
